How much snow and ice fell in Tupelo, Northeast Mississippi?

A winter storm continued to move across the Northeast Mississippi area on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing heavy snowfall and ice accumulation. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis, a mixture of sleet, snow and freezing rain came across the area late Wednesday night with light to moderate snow continuing in counties northwest of the Tupelo area. In Lee County, data reported to the NWS showed areas in south Tupelo receiving up to 2 inches of snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday. There were reports of Guntown receiving up to 4 inches. In Corinth, the city received up to four inches of snow.

Winter storm temporarily halts Parker County COVID-19 vaccinations

Courtesy Winter storm Uri that swept through Texas has put a temporary halt on COVID-19 vaccinations and dose shipments this week. Texas was set to receive 407,650 first doses of the vaccine from the federal government this week but the shipment was postponed on Feb. 12 in anticipation of the bad weather, according to an article by The Texas Tribune. “Local providers have postponed vaccine clinics because it is not safe for people to be out across much of Texas. Vaccination will resume as soon as conditions permit,” Texas Department of State Health Services spokesman Chris Van Deusen told The Texas Tribune. “I haven’t heard of any public sites being open, but I guess there could be some isolated places where that’s possible.”

Homicide 400 block of S Magnolia Avenue

Published: 18 February 2021 18 February 2021 Yuma, Arizona - On Wednesday, at approximately 6:04 p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to the 400 block of S. Magnolia Avenue for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 22 year old male subject with multiple gunshot wounds.  Life saving measures were performed by officers until Yuma Fire Department arrived and took over.  The victim was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. There is no suspect information at this time.
